In 2020, Ipsos Consulting released the “ Survey on Public Attitudes towards Policies on Car Plate Control and Road Restriction”(referred to as the survey). The survey is supported by the Energy Foundation China.

The survey reviewed the current car plate control and road restriction policies in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Hainan provinces, and investigated residents’ travel experience and their attitudes and acceptance towards different types of road management policies.

The survey found that residents in various places generally support the concept of green travel and wish to vigorously develop and improve the public transportation system.
